38 Wheelchairs Distributed to the Needy in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta Social Sub-agency has recorded that as many as 38 wheelchairs have been distributed to those in need in the period July 1 to 15, 2024.

"This assistance is dedicated to people with disabilities and the elderly," expressed North Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Rizqon Hermawan, Thursday (7/18).

Of 38 wheelchairs, 13 units were distributed to Cilincing, 11 were to Koja, two were to Tanjung Priok, three were to Pademangan, and nine were to Penjaringan. Previously, in the first and second quarters, as many as 100 units had been distributed to six sub-districts spread across North Jakarta.

"Hopefully, the assistance can lighten the recipients' burden to carry out daily activities," he explained.

Therefore, people who need assistive equipment can apply directly to the Social Implementation Unit in each sub-district by bringing complete documents with the requirements.

Later on, personnel would verify documents and hold visits to the recipients' houses in a bid to ensure, whether the assistance is arrived or not.

"We'll continue to record the poor and those who need the assistance. Thus, our presence and service can be felt by the needy," he uttered.

One of the wheelchair recipients from Semper Barat Urban Village, Toyinah (63) felt happy and grateful for the wheelchair assistance she received.

"My leg was broken due to a fall. Alhamdulillah (thank God), this wheelchair is very useful and helps a lot with activities," she admitted.
